What we do

Three
disciplines.
One practice.

From a single residential lot to a 100,000-gallon-per-day treatment plant — Houser Engineering carries projects through feasibility, design, permitting, and construction.

Residential Septic
NJ · Southern NY

Residential Septic

Residential septic design is the foundation of our practice. New systems, replacements, and upgrades engineered to site-specific soil, groundwater, and regulatory conditions.

  • New system design
  • Disposal area evaluation
  • Soil & permeability testing
  • Advanced treatment tech
  • High groundwater solutions
  • Private well coordination
  • Regulatory approvals
Land Development
Engineering

Land Development

Residential, commercial, and municipal projects — guided from feasibility through final approvals and construction support.

  • Zoning & feasibility
  • Site plans & grading

  • Utility coordination
  • Minor & major subdivisions
  • Variance applications
  • Municipal board testimony
  • Construction support
Commercial Wastewater

Commercial Wastewater

On-site sewage disposal — from high-strength commercial sites requiring advanced treatment to larger-scale systems exceeding 2,000 GPD, including plants up to 100,000 GPD.

  • Package treatment plants
  • Public sewer evaluations
  • Pump stations & force mains
  • Sewer extensions
  • Wastewater characterization
  • Subsurface investigations
  • Upgrades & expansions

Strategic guidance for systems exceeding 2,000 GPD requiring state discharge permitting and enhanced review.

  • Discharge permitting (NJPDES & equivalents)
  • Water Quality Management Plan amendments
  • Treatment Works Approvals
  • Flood Hazard Area permitting
  • Wetlands, Highlands & Pinelands compliance
  • Soil Conservation District certification
  • Sewer authority coordination
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers coordination

Chad P.
Houser

Chad supports the full arc of the firm's engineering work — from initial site investigations and soil testing through design development, permitting, and construction oversight. He works across residential septic, land development, and commercial wastewater assignments.

His hands-on experience in the field and in the drafting room keeps projects coordinated between what the site actually shows and what the drawings ultimately require — a discipline that keeps approvals moving and construction clean.
